To meet surging customer demand, award-winning refrigerated transport company LF&E is boosting its rapidly growing fleet further with the addition of 15 Ford Transit Custom vans converted by CoolKit.
The conversions exceed the strictest industry requirements laid down by the MHRA and EU GDP and provide live tracking to ensure a fully temperature-monitored service. Incorporating many other features including air curtains and mid-bulkheads as well as Spectrum dual-evaporator refrigeration systems by Marshall Thermo King, the vans are fully readied for multi-temperature loads where the highest standard of temperature control is crucial.
Jason Buckley, CEO of LF&E, commented “This build was the first where CoolKit serviced LF&E’s needs directly, having previously impressed us with the quality and performance of their conversions incorporated into numerous vans hired on to our fleet. On this occasion, order fulfilment time was also a key factor and CoolKit won the business also because of its capacity to build the conversions at short notice and to tight deadlines, which have been met”.
LF&E is a specialist courier service focussed on the needs of customers in pharmaceutical and healthcare logistics. It operates more than 200 vehicles across a national depot network and was awarded the 2022 Specialist Refrigerated Courier of the Year at the prestigious industry TCS&D Awards.
CoolKit is the largest specialist in temperature-controlled light commercial vehicles (LCVs) in the UK today – manufacturing in excess of 1,500 insulated lining kits per annum for markets in both the UK and overseas, whilst selling more than 500 ready-converted vans. It has recently won numerous awards including the 2023 What Van? Converter of the Year Award and the 2023 Red Rose Medium-Sized Business of the Year Award.
