About the role

The Operational Quality Lead, (Quality Engineer), will enhance operational efficiencies and reduce customer complaints and internal issues, by supporting the Quality Manager with embedding a culture of quality and standards across the organisation.

This role is part of the Quality Team and is an independent function with no direct reports. This role will require an individual to be present on the shop floor at both sites.

Required Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • 3 years + in Quality Engineer Role

  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced engineering / manufacturing organisation

  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the business

  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of all Microsoft Office Programmes

  • Lean Six Sigma (desirable)

  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings (desirable)

  • Experience of ISO Audits (desirable)

  • Understanding of Quality Management Documentation Systems

  • Experience of implementation and management of quality improvements

  • Strong understanding of root cause problem solving tools

About you

You will be an experienced Quality Engineer with a passion for root cause analysis and hands on implementation of corrective and improvement actions.

You will have good knowledge of manufacturing processes and ideally have worked in a regulated industry.

An exceptional communicator with the ability to collaborate ideas and best practices, you will be comfortable interacting with individuals across all levels of the business.

A passion for change and improvements is required in this role as well as a desire to standardise processes across the organisation

Responsibilities

  • Identifying the root causes of issues and implementing corrective actions

  • Preparing reports and documentations on issues and corrective measures, (including complaints)

  • Reviewing, updating and creating quality documents

  • Supporting the Quality Manager with achieving OKR’s

  • Collaborating with the Operational Team to improve and enhance operational efficiencies

  • Providing audit support when required

  • Working with internal teams to improve the quality of products for enhancing customer satisfaction

  • Ensure compliance with standards

  • Acting as the first point of contact for internal and customer quality concerns

  • Developing & maintaining FMEA’s and control plans.

  • Providing support to Quality Manager in driving through operational excellence

  • Operating with minimum supervision to drive the day-to-day activities to closure to meet customer and internal expectations.
